Songbirds love to bring music to the community and while they do this any monies raised are donated to Charity. Each year, all members of Songbirds Choir are invited to nominate a Charity for the choir to support; votes are counted at our AGM to determine our Charities to support over the coming year.
This year Songbirds have chosen the following two Charities:
Free Shop, Crawley
https://freeshopcrawley.com/
“FreeShop Crawley is a supermarket providing food, toiletries and baby essentials without any associated costs. We hold regular form filling clinics, the STILL method and CLANGERS workshops assist with mental health, our coffee mornings and exercise opportunities help bring people together and feel great, and we also offer bespoke workshops.”
Crawley Open House
www.crawleyopenhouse.co.uk
“Crawley Open House provides support and services for those suffering the effects of homelessness, unemployment, loneliness, discrimination, or other forms of social exclusion. Our support is available to anyone in need.”
Since Songbirds have been raising money for good causes, a total of just under £13,000 has been donated to charities that are dear to our members’ hearts, including:
- 2023-2024 Free Shop Crawley and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance – £1000 each
- 2022-2023 YMCA Downslink and Crawley Open House – £687.83 each
- 2020-2022 our fundraising was interrupted by the pandemic
